~BANGLADESH~ROHINGYA REFUGEE CAMPS~April 2015
With ACF and UNHCR
nOah was chosen to work with Sweden's Clowns Without Borders team to go to Bangladesh and work directly with the Rohingya People living in Refugee Camps. When they arrived however, their plans were thwarted due to political complications by the authorities. Turning lemons into lemonade, the four clowns / teachers did what they do best... they improvised...and taught teacher trainings to the leaders working directly with the youth in the camps. They shared their favorite therapeutic games, confidence and community building exercises, and taught them how to make circus equipment from local recycled materials. The multi-organization youth ambassadors learned how to teach the basics with the new equipment and were walked through "game" progressions that help bring people out of "survival" mode into "thrive" mode through joy and play. When the clowns left, there were definitive plans set in motion for new programs to be offered to the youth and a dozen new excited, inspired facilitators.

~JUBA, SOUTH SUDAN~ REFUGEE AND I.D.P. CAMPS~November 2014
With Terre Des Hommes
The mission - collaborate with 3 other Artist/Teachers to Perform original Clown/Circus Shows in Refugee and I.D.P. Camps, and then co-design and lead need specific therapeutic theater games and circus workshops for the adolescents in the camps.
Circus and Theater workshops 3 times a day for 5 days~ Have them build their own circus equipment out of local materials that stay there for them to use after our brief stay. Work with Terre Des Hommes to create a team of adults in the camps that help facilitate the teens passing on their knowledge to the younger children and continue to develop their own skills of interest through developing a playful weekly circus training program.

~~WITH CLOWNS WITHOUT BORDERS USA AND PAYASOS SIN FRONTERAS (Clowns Without Borders Brazil)~~
~
EL SALVADOR NOV 2017
nOah Co-Designed / Co-Taught games and theory "clown" workshops to other healing interested performing artists and to communities severely affected by poverty, gang violence and trauma from persecution, working especially near the border of Honduras. It was INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL! To children, We taught how to make circus toys out of recycled materials and a few basics to get started, often ending in them doing a small show for their neighborhood. We travelled to small villages / schools daily to perform the ridiculous clown show we co-created for our landing in their land. It is one of the richest memories and I cherish the time I was so lucky to spend there.

INDIA APRIL 2016

And though the shows are a great gift, the real treasure was in the playtime with the children afterwards.
